_______________ "I've backslidden!"
ESUS SAID, "Repent!" 22 Gal.
3:22 Jesus said, also, 9 I Jn.1:9 Compromising
our walk with God will, unless it also hardens our heart, naturally bring
about an uncertainty
about our standing with God. Being
indefinite in our commitment and response to God creates a similar
attitude in us, about the quality of our relationship with God; if we are
uncertain about whether we are or wish to obey God fully we will be
similarly uncertain about how God sees us. The key
is to MAKE SURE that we are FULLY right with God in order to be SURE of
our salvation! 5 6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; 7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. 8 For
if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall
neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus
Christ. 10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: 11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. II Pet. 1: 9
4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. 5 Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy? 6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and He will flee from you. 8 Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. 9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He shall lift you up. James 4:4-10
12 Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, thou backsliding Israel, saith the LORD; and I will not cause mine anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, saith the LORD, and I will not keep anger for ever. 13 Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast transgressed against the LORD thy God. Jer. 3:12
5 Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned: I Tim. 1:5
